We share our experiences with thousands of people in an instant — yet often it feels that something is missing, like it's not enough. Despite all this connectivity, we grow more and more disconnected from our own experiences. It feels like we're brushing over our lives as if on a fast train: consuming a wider variety of what life has to offer, yet seldom going deep enough to find any real fulfilment. This contributes to rising levels of stress and anxiety-related illness worldwide.
Science finds one of the answers in ancient practices like mindfulness. There's clearly a huge curiosity and demand for it in our society — it's been praised for its effects on stress reduction, self-understanding and emotional intelligence. So what is it all about, and how is it done?
